After 90 years as a St. Louis brand, Bissinger's sold to local chocolate rival

The Abel family will continue to operate the Bissinger's brand as a separate entity from its Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate brand. Bissinger's manufacturing equipment used at its former facility at 1600 N. Broadway near the riverfront north of downtown is being auctioned.

The Bissinger’s kitchen, staff and some equipment are being moved into a new addition of the Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company facility down the street from its main plant on the Hill, according to the statement. Founded in 1981, the Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company offers tours of its chocolate factory at 5025 Pattison Ave.
