Enthusiasm wanes for Westchester airport privatization under George Latimer

George Latimer isn’t ready to pull the plug on his predecessor’s privatization deal at Westchester County Airport.

But eight months into his tenure as county executive, it appears that Latimer and his allies on the county Board of Legislators are prepared to slow-walk it to death.

“I don’t really want to do it, and the Board of Legislators already rejected it twice,” Latimer said in an interview Tuesday. “There’s a more progressive board today, so I think it’s unlikely.”
