Update on Our Upcoming General Membership Meeting. In my recent letters (Sep 29 and Oct 7) I informed you that the SRG will soon be able to conduct our first General Membership Meeting since March. The specific date and time are Sunday, November 1st at 2:00 pm. The location is our own Pontiac Square Park. Membership has mailed a separate letter announcing this meeting to every current SRG member.

The procedures for this meeting are straightforward. Wear your facemask and maintain a 6-foot social distance from others. If you wish to sit, bring a folding chair. In Pontiac Square Park, look for the balloons which indicate the Membership Table, where you should check-in. Our meeting will begin promptly at 2:00 pm.

Agenda items include vote on our annual budget, as well as attendance from Saint Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson.

The General Meeting Does Not Include an Election. You will recall that when the health pandemic impacted our Annual Meeting (April 2020), we were unable to hold elections. At that time, the duration of this health crisis was unknown – and it still is! The two Directors with expiring terms have graciously agreed to remain in place until April 2021. Our one vacant position was our President Elect. Rather than the President appointing one, the SRG successfully conducted a virtual election to select our President Elect in June/July. The Board has decided to forego any additional elections until our next Annual Meeting (April 2021). Therefore, an election on November 1st, 2020 is no longer required. For any vacancies that occur on our Board of Directors prior to April, the President will appoint an acting Director or officer to complete the term in accordance with our SRG By-Laws Article VI, Section 11.

General Membership Review and Approval of the SRG FY2020 Budget. Your committees and Board have diligently worked to develop a solid budget which both sustains SRG essential functions and incorporates procedures for amending that budget as the COVID situation unfolds. I will ensure that the new budget is available for general membership review before the day of our General Meeting.

In closing, please continue to be considerate of the health of others as well as yourself. Wear a mask, observe

social distancing, and be safe out there as we all get through this pandemic. I look forward to seeing many of

st you in Pontiac Square Park on November 1 .
