St. Louis County Council eyeing referendum on city-county merger

CLAYTON • The St. Louis County Council wants to have a nonbinding referendum that would ask county voters whether they think statewide voters should decide on a city-county merger.

The ballot language remains on the drawing board after the bill’s sponsor, Mark Harder, R-7th District, tabled the bill on Tuesday. The council plans to discuss the plan further at a public hearing in March. The referendum would be in April 2020.
