Did you know proposals for airport privatization can move ahead only if the proponents win separate approvals from (1) the FAA, (2) the airlines, (3) a majority of the Board of Aldermen, and (4) two out of three members of the Board of Estimate and Apportionment?
That’s an approval process that packs a lot handwringing punch.
Purveyors of airport drama don’t always mention the approval process. I can see why. Presenting the hurdles takes a lot of the air out of their arguments. It deflates the drama. Suddenly the sky is not falling at St. Louis Lambert Airport.
But don’t take my word for it. Judge for yourself.
