Punishment for adults could include a $500 fine, 30 days in prison or community service. Minors could be fined up to $500 or sentenced to community service.
“Once the food is gone more than likely they’ll leave," said Gary Thornhill. "Right now there’s a lot of fawns and rabbits, so they do have an ample amount of food.”
The amendment hit a snag in April, when Republican Attorney General Andrew Bailey refused to sign off on Republican Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick's cost estimate.
“The outcome of this week’s inspections of the ride necessitated us to immediately secure it as evidence," Antioch Police Chief Geoffrey Guttschow said in a release.
"Exceptional" and "extreme" drought is still the norm throughout Pettis, Morgan and Moniteau counties, according to the latest Drought Monitor that dropped Thursday.
