Kansas-based attorney Juliane Colby was sentenced to 13 months in prison on Tuesday for smuggling heroin to an inmate incarcerated at the Western Missouri Correctional Center in Cameron. The inmate and attorney had been a years-long romantic relationship. Colby was indicted in March 2021 on four federal charges related to the attempted smuggling, including one count of conspiracy to distribute heroin and another count of attempted distribution of heroin.

A man died yesterday afternoon at the St. Louis City Justice Center after fellow detainees found him unresponsive in his cell. St. Louis City Commissioner of Corrections Jennifer Clemons-Abdullah said in a statement that staff called 911 at 3:47 p.m. The detainee was taken to a local hospital and passed away at 4:38 p.m.

Hi-Pointe Drive-In is going back to the basics in Ballwin. A Little Hi (15069 Manchester Road, Ballwin; hipointedrivein.com) is expected to come to the area in the fall. Micro-menu items will "highlight the greatest hits" of Hi-Pointe Drive-In locations, focusing specifically on Hi-Pointe’s signature burgers, fries, and shakes.
Taco Buddha will officially open its second location in Kirkwood, the business announced on Monday. The new restaurant on 11111 Manchester Road, a former Hardee’s building, will be able to seat about 120 people with indoor dining and outdoor patio options.
