The process of rebuilding the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office is continuing with the new administration’s first murder conviction, its first dismissal of a murder case and the hiring of more key staff members, as well as an effort to increase salaries. The ripple effects of a large water main break in south St. Louis last week are still being felt, even after a boil water advisory was lifted in the area. It all started with a water main break on Friday at Donovan and Lansdowne Avenues due to changes in pressure. Fifteen others followed soon after, and city crews are still working to repair them. A community group is calling for more police presence downtown. Citizens for a Greater Downtown St. Louis released a report Tuesday claiming the downtown area is significantly understaffed by police. Basketball courts are coming to Tower Grove Park by fall 2023

Shovels dug into the dirt Tuesday morning at Tower Grove Park near Arsenal Street and Bent Avenue. St. Louis leaders broke ground while trying to break a stigma. Two new basketball courts are coming in late fall to the 289-acre park, and crews were already hard at work following the ceremony. A ribbon cutting could happen in late October or early November.
