St. Louis in recent years has placed a focus on growing through its growing technology sector, particularly in biosciences and geospatial technology. It’s a field that includes many roles that require advanced degrees and science expertise, but for it to grow, workforce development officials said they need to be focused on ensuring individuals know the barrier for entry isn’t always that high.

Birch Creek Energy buys D.C. solar power startup from Hull Street Energy

Birch Creek Energy LLC, a St. Louis-based renewable energy company, has acquired a solar power development startup out of Washington, D.C. Birch Creek said Wednesday it acquired Foundation Solar Partners from Hull Street Energy. Terms of the deal, which closed March 24, weren't disclosed. Judge sets 1st hearing date for Missouri AG's lawsuit to remove St. Louis circuit attorney from office

A judge has set an initial hearing date for the Missouri attorney general’s lawsuit seeking to remove St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner from office. Judge John Torbitsky has scheduled a case management conference for April 18 and “all motions pending before the court at that time will be heard.” Those motions include Gardner’s motion to dismiss Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey’s quo warranto petition. Plans for redeveloped Piasa Park and visitor center underway in Alton

The Great Rivers & Routes Tourism Bureau presented plans for a brand new Piasa Park redevelopment Tuesday afternoon at Alton City Hall.
