A five-alarm fire erupted Wednesday morning at a factory near Granite City, injuring one employee. As of Wednesday night, the fire was under control, but firefighters were still monitoring for hotspots into the night. A day after a federal declaration identifying St. Louis area flooding as a major disaster, the Federal Emergency Management Agency on Tuesday announced its crews would begin surveying the area this week.
