Farmers are still reeling after a rainy spring and an already-dry summer makes it hard to keep up with the season.
At Theodora Farms in Godfrey, Illinois, General Manager Kris Larson says they're just trying to stay ahead of the hot temperatures.

2 men injured in chemical explosion at East St. Louis factory
Two men were injured in a chemical explosion Sunday night at Allnex USA, a resins factory in East St. Louis.
East St. Louis Assistant Fire Chief George McClellan told KSDK the explosion happened at about 10 p.m. inside the plant, starting a fire and causing significant damage to parts of the factory.
In a statement Monday afternoon, the company said one of the men was treated at the hospital and released and the other remained in the hospital for treatment.

Gas prices drop nearly 35 cents in one month in St. Louis
After months of only seeing the numbers go up at gas pumps, the prices continue to fall for another week.
"The national average has declined for 27 days straight, or four weeks, the longest decline in average gas prices since the pandemic started in 2020," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy in a news release.
According to GasBuddy, St. Louis prices have fallen 34.5 cents from a month ago, and 16.8 cents in just one week, averaging $4.58 per gallon.
