Man Dies from Injuries Sustained in 2020 Wells Goodfellow Shooting

On August 21, 2026, a Medicolegal Death Investigator with the St. Louis Medical Examiner's Office contacted the SLMPD Homicide Division. The investigator advised that a man had died on August 20th as a result of injuries sustained from a previous shooting and that the death was ruled a homicide.

Citizen-Led Board Approves New Recruitment Incentive Program to Strengthen Public Safety

Continuing its commitment to investing in public safety, the St. Louis Board of Police Commissioners voted Wednesday to authorize the SLMPD to develop a new employee recruitment incentive program designed to help bring more police officers to the streets of St. Louis.
