On December 31, 2025 at approximately 6:15 PM, District 3 officers responded to a shooting near the intersection of Rutger and Ohio Ave. When officers arrived, they located a male who had been shot on the sidewalk in the 2600 block of Rutger.

On January 2, 2026, just after 12:30 AM, District 6 officers responded to I-70 eastbound, just east of Union for an Accident, Person Struck. When they arrived, they located an adult male that was not conscious and not breathing. The man died on scene.
