Danforth Entrepreneur is Developing Solar Powered Drone Farming Solutions

Nadia Shakoor, the breeding genetics researcher of St. Louis’ Donald Danforth Plant Science Center invents an all-in-one sensor platform that’s a 100 percent solar powered autonomous drone “FieldDock” to measure soil moisture and drought stress to work with no human intervention.

Backed by a 1.4 Million federal grant by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture and the National Science Foundation, this will be integrated with PheNode that automatically captures crop data.
