Alchemical Abstractions: The Art of De Joneiro Jones

Alchemical Abstractions: The Art of De Joneiro Jones is a 15-piece mixed-media abstract expressionist show by St. Louis-based artist De Joneiro Jones! The show will run from August 31st to September 28th and feature two programs: a Black abstraction artist history presentation and an artist workshop with De Joneiro.
The show run is as follows:
- August 31st from 6-7:30 is Opening night and will include refreshments and remarks from the artist and curator, the Griot's Vistors' Experience Coordinator Naysa Adams
- September 12th from 5:30-7:30 is the Black Abstraction Overview. This will be a brief survey of Black abstraction art history, including discussions of 3 regional Black abstract artists
- September 17th from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm is an artists' workshop with De Joneiro where he will show his technique and invite audiences to apply it to their 4 x 6 canvas. Audiences are also encouraged to bring found objects to add to their pieces
- September 28th is the final day of the exhibition.
