Astronomy on Tap – St. Louis: Discover Fast Radio Bursts with Duncan Lorimer
Join us for Astronomy on Tap St. Louis!
We’re thrilled to welcome Duncan Lorimer, the discoverer of Fast Radio Bursts and Professor of Physics and Astronomy at West Virginia University! Come hear about his groundbreaking work and enjoy a night of science, drinks, and fun!
Fast radio bursts are millisecond-duration pulses of cosmological origin that were discovered at West Virginia University in 2007. Though their origins remain largely unknown, they hold great promise as probes of the large-scale structure of the Universe and offer new insights into distant compact objects.
