St. Louis-born international award-winning playwright Paris Crayton III brings Brothers of Affliction home to the city where the story is set.
The play follows three brothers whose love for one another is tested by grief, addiction, family trauma, emotional pain, and the pressures surrounding Black masculinity. As they struggle to protect one another, long-buried wounds threaten to tear the family apart.
Following productions in Atlanta, Orlando, and Los Angeles, Brothers of Affliction comes to Greenfinch Theatre for five performances. Every performance will be followed by a 30 to 45-minute talkback led by a mental health therapist, giving audience members an opportunity to discuss the play’s themes and their impact on families and communities.
