MISSOURI - The Missouri College and Career Attainment Network (MOCAN) wants students and their parents to know it is not too late to complete the FAFSA. Free expert assistance is available this summer to help students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) so they have the money they need for college this fall.
Due to this year's rocky start of the new FAFSA, there is an almost 14% decline in submissions compared to last year. In Missouri this means nearly 5,000 fewer students could be missing their chance at a higher education. But never fear! Free expert help is available.
Every Monday and Wednesday in June, Students and parents can drop in virtually to get one-on-one assistance with FAFSA completion and get their FAFSA questions answered by MOCAN staff and financial aid experts.
WHAT: Free FAFSA Support Sessions – Virtual support sessions for students, families, counselors, and college access professionals.
WHO: Staff from MOCAN will be available to answer questions and provide one-on-one assistance with FAFSA completion.
WHEN: Throughout the Month of June 2024
Every Monday at 10 a.m - 12 p.m
Every Wednesday 5 p.m - 7 p.m.
WHERE: www.mofafsa.org/fafsazoom
WHY IT’S IMPORTANT: Affordability is the biggest challenge students face when considering college and completing the FAFSA is the first step. The 2024-25 FAFSA has been redesigned and was delayed in opening. Completing the FAFSA is essential for students seeking to maximize their financial aid awards. Last year Missouri students left a whopping $78,820,804 of unclaimed Pell Grants on the table! Let’s not let that happen again this year!
