Maxine’s oil paintings blend pessimism and morbid themes with elegance and vintage glamour. Her work finds inspiration in depictions of women in 1930s-40s cinema, surrealism, and introspection. Translating her inner dialogue into visual imagery, this collection of thirteen paintings is simultaneously playful and moody, vibrant and melancholy.
