Myths & Allegories Artists’ Reception

Join us for refreshments in our Staenberg Gallery as we celebrate Myths & Allegories on Third Friday in the Delmar Maker District. 
Myths & Allegories pairs two St. Louis-based artists working in very different media to create bodies of work that share an interest in symbolism, allegory, and a deep commitment to the process. Elizabeth Madden creates incredibly detailed embroideries based on dreams or visions in reaction to her personal life or events in the world around her. Influenced by Jungian psychology and mythology, Travis Lawrence creates prints of carved woodblocks rich in symbolism. He draws on imagery found in medieval manuscripts and tarot cards to explore ideas of spirituality and mysticism. Clone content
