The City of St. Louis is seeking public input on the design of the reconstruction of the
Laurel/Waterman Bridge over the Metrolink railroad tracks in the Skinker-DeBaliviere
neighborhood. The project will completely remove and replace the existing bridge. The
new bridge will feature ADA-compliant sidewalks on both sides, upgraded lighting, and
decorative safety fencing. Engineers from the City and the City’s consultant will be
available to answer questions and discuss the project.
Preliminary engineering plans are now complete and the City has announced a public
meeting will be held in the Trolley Room at the Dennis & Judith Jones Visitors Center,
5595 Grand Drive, St. Louis, MO 63112, on November 9, 2026, between the hours of
4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. All interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard
concerning their views on the design. Tentative schedules construction will be discussed
at the meeting. An open-house format will be used, and persons may discuss the project
and offer comments at any time between the prescribed hours.
Maps, plats, and other detail information prepared by the City of St. Louis, will be
available for public inspection and copying at the offices of the Board of Public Service,
Room 301 City Hall, 1200 Market Street, St. Louis, MO 63103. Written statements and
exhibits as well as oral statements will be received at the hearing. Written statements and
exhibits received within ten working days after the date of the meeting will be made a
part of the public hearing records. Comments will be accepted in the form of writing or
providing a recorded statement. You can also submit your comment directly to the City.
