Public Meeting / Open House for the Union-Lindell Bridge Replacement Project

This project replaces two side-by-side bridges at the intersection of two arterial roads, Lindell Boulevard and Union Boulevard in Forest Park. These bridges span a major arterial road, Forest Park Parkway as well as eastbound and westbound MetroLink light rail tracks. This pair of bridge structures consists of two independent span structures; the first bridge that spans the MetroLink tracks was originally built in 1929 and the second bridge that spans Forest Park Parkway was originally built in 1961. Both bridges are rated as structurally deficient and functionally obsolete. Additionally, concrete barriers have been installed on the bridge to protect the underlying light rail and roadway, which restricts pedestrian and bicycle access through the area.
