The City of St. Louis Department of Personnel is proud to announce its participation in the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis' "Save Our Sons & Sisters” Job Fair and Back to School Community Festival on Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 1 - 5 p.m.
This event, which will take place at the Urban League's South St. Louis location at 2626 Cherokee St., aims to empower and uplift the community through various activities, resources, and opportunities.
The City of St. Louis will be featured as the "Employer of Choice" at the Job Fair, a highlight of the event.
This presents a unique opportunity for job seekers to engage with representatives from various City departments, learn about current job openings, and complete online job applications on-site with the assistance of the Department of Personnel's mobile computer stations.
The "Save Our Sons Community Fair and 5K Run" will offer a range of activities, including resource tables, vendor booths, live entertainment provided by a DJ, free food options including burgers, hotdogs, and vegan choices from a food truck, and complimentary haircuts from onsite barbers. The event will also feature a 5K run hosted by the STL Run Crew, encouraging physical fitness and community engagement.
In addition to the Hiring Fair, attendees will have the chance to become Save Our Sons clients, gaining access to an array of supportive services and benefits designed to help individuals achieve economic self-sufficiency.
