SLAM Cinema—'Easy Rider'

SLAM Cinema is celebrating the exhibition "In Search of America: Photography and the Road Trip" with three road-trip films. The first in this series is "Easy Rider," a 1969 counterculture classic that follows two bikers (Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper) on their trip from Los Angeles to New Orleans. Hopper directed and wrote the screenplay with Fonda and Terry Southern; the film also stars Toni Basil, Karen Black, and Jack Nicholson. The film will be introduced with brief remarks by Eric Lutz, associate curator of prints, drawings, and photographs. Rated R. 96 minutes.
