To celebrate Valentine’s Day, the St. Louis Cultural Flamenco Society sponsors a fiery live performance of music and dance each February. This year’s “Valentine’s a la Flamenca” shows are at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, at The Sheldon Ballroom in Grand Center.
In addition to the Society’s own company dancers, the performances feature an international cast of guest dancers: Melissa Cruz, David Bustos, Carolina Barrera, and Jose Junco. The dances are choreographed by Artistic Director Marisel Salascruz. Guitarist and singer Juan Pedro Jiménez Relinque will provide the musical accompaniment.
The combination of local and guest artists allows the Society to offer a diversity of styles that showcase the tremendous emotional range that flamenco can conjure.
This show concludes the Society’s 40th anniversary season, which was generously supported by the Missouri Arts Council (MAC) and Regional Arts Commission (RAC).
