New Pornographers Ponder Connection and Isolation in Latest Album

A. C. Newman, leader of indie-rock luminaries the New Pornographers, is enjoying the bucolic life. A few years ago, Newman and his wife ditched their apartment in New York City and moved upstate to Woodstock, where Newman is preparing for the New Pornographers' album release and U.S. tour, which includes a stop at the Sheldon on April 27. "Woodstock is kind of a bubble within a bubble within a bubble," Newman says.

The early morning blaze at Three Kings Public House that shut down a good chunk of the Loop to traffic yesterday will not delay the delay-prone Loop Trolley's return to Delmar.  Patti Beck, communications director at Bi-State Development, confirmed that the trolley — which the RFT previously dubbed "unkillable" — will roll along as planned at 11 a.m. this morning, kicking off its warm-weather relaunch.

Lincoln County Man Gets 19 Years for Spying on Catholic Church Bathroom

A Lincoln County man who admitted to hiding cameras in bathrooms at a St. Charles children's amusement center and a Catholic church in Troy, Missouri, was sentenced to 19 years in prison yesterday. Jeffery Eisenbath, 33, placed the cameras in the Adrenaline Zone, an indoor facility off First Capitol Drive with laser tag and bumper cars, as well as in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where Eisenbath was a parishioner and taught religious classes to 8th graders. (Adrenaline Zone has since closed.)

"We at Three Kings Public House are heartbroken this morning because of the fire that broke out at our Delmar Loop restaurant location," the restaurant said in a statement.
