Cop Impersonator Casually Tries Freeing Buddy From Missouri Jail: Police

There's acting like you belong, and then there's the act put on by Chad Michael Gosney, who is accused of trying to impersonate his way into obtaining an inmate's early release from the Jefferson County jail on Thursday.

Gosney, who is not a police officer, showed up the jail in Hilsboro and "claimed to be an officer picking up an inmate," the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said in a statement posted to Facebook.

"We let him in," the statement continued, "closed the door, and arrested him."…

August Burns, 23, is charged with resisting arrest and unlawful possession of a firearm, while Clyde Thomas, 35, is charged with resisting arrest. Police identified the suspect killed yesterday as Equan Hopson, also 23-years-old.

Yesterday afternoon, St. Louis City police officers were pursuing a vehicle that they “believed to have been used in a homicide a few hours earlier,” according to the probable cause statement.…

The Missouri History Museum Is Scheduled to Reopen Next Week

Like many other St. Louis institutions, the Missouri History Museum (5700 Lindell Boulevard, 314-746-4599) and its satellite locations closed temporarily because of staffing challenges at the beginning of the current COVID-19 surge.

But there’s good news for local history fans: The Missouri History Museum now plans to reopen on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, and the MHS Library & Research Center and Soldiers Memorial Military Museum will reopen on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.

All visitors two years of age and older (including those who are vaccinated) must wear a mask that “fully covers the nose and mouth at all MHS locations.”
