Top Washington University administrators were grilled by faculty Wednesday over what many described as the school allowing a "violent" police response to an anti-war protest last month.
The U.S. is one of nine countries that do not guarantee paid sick leave. In Missouri and other states, advocates are organizing to take the issue to voters this November.
The law, pushed by Democrats, eliminates the drafting of legislative candidates by local political parties without putting them through primary elections.
“The battle that we’re fighting down here at the border, is keeping it from happening in our own borders in our own state in Missouri,” the governor said.

Under the proposal, “no funds shall be expended by any state department for intradepartmental programs, staffing, or other initiatives associated with ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion.’”
Larry D. Lovett, 42, was convicted in March of first-degree murder, attempted armed robbery and unlawful possession of a weapon in the shooting death of Andre Hutson, 38, in Madison, Illinois.
