Jury finds Elizabeth Holmes guilty on 4 of 11 Theranos fraud counts
Elizabeth Holmes was found guilty Monday afternoon on four of the 11 charges that she faced of misleading her defunct Silicon Valley blood testing company's investors and customers.
The jury of eight men and four women delivered their verdict after twice telling U.S. Judge Edward Dasilva on Monday that they were deadlocked on three of 11 counts.

These Metro East schools are going back to virtual learning amid Covid surge
When some students in Edwardsville and Belleville schools head back to class after the winter break on Tuesday, they’ll be doing so virtually and from home.
Belleville confirmed with KSDK Monday afternoon that Belleville Township High School District 201 students will move to remote learning Tuesday-Friday of this week. The plan will be reevaluated over the weekend.
School district officials said they had to make the change because of too many staffing and teacher absences.

As we ring in the third year of the coronavirus pandemic, case rates in St. Louis County are hitting record highs.
St. Louis County Executive Sam Page announced during his regular Monday coronavirus briefing that the number of cases and the positivity rate was "the worst we've ever been in the pandemic."

Some health care systems restricting visitors amid Covid-19 surge in St. Louis
BJC Healthcare and SSM Health both announced Wednesday they are restricting visitors as COVID cases continue to surge in the St. Louis area.
Starting Monday, Jan. 3 patients at BJC will be allowed to have one designated visitor in inpatient units. Two visitors will be allowed for pediatric, obstetrics and end-of-life patients.
