Pat McBride, an Olympian and National Soccer Hall of Fame inductee known as "Missouri's Father of Soccer," died Wednesday at the age of 81, friends of the family confirmed.
He was born Nov. 13, 1943, in St. Louis.
McBride, a midfielder, was a two-time first-team All-American for the St. Louis Billikens, and played on the team when it won NCAA soccer titles in 1963 and 1965.
