An off-duty St. Louis City police officer is recovering Wednesday morning after being shot overnight while confronting suspects who were allegedly breaking into cars, including his vehicle.
Police said the victim was unconscious and not breathing when officers arrived. Homicide detectives were called in to handle the ongoing investigation.
