SPRINGFIELD - Today, the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) disallowed $36.34 million to Ameren Illinois’ rate request for its natural gas delivery services in Illinois. The decision is approximately 50.8 percent lower than Ameren’s initial request for a $71.57 million increase and approves a 9.44 percent return on equity (ROE), a reduction from Ameren’s proposed 10.3 percent ROE. The ICC has issued its decision after closely scrutinizing Ameren’s rate case filings and additional materials submitted by the utility, Commission Staff, and various interveners over an 11-month legal proceeding. The process aims to ensure the utility receives the necessary funds to provide safe and reliable service to customers and to maintain and replace aging infrastructure at a reasonable cost to ratepayers. ST. LOUIS - Jerseyville Public Library and Scenic Regional Library are two of the latest library systems to implement the American Heart Association’s Libraries with Heart initiative. The American Heart Association, a global force for longer, healthier lives, and St. Louis County Library debuted the program earlier this year. The Libraries with Heart initiative offers support to community members focused on their health journey by providing blood pressure kits. Included in each kit are American Heart Association-guided materials, such as a validated monitor and cuff. They all describe the same thing: acidic contents of your stomach coming up into your esophagus and burning it. “People lose sleep over it. They wake up in the middle of the night coughing. CHICAGO – Attorney General Kwame Raoul is opposing a state law in Oklahoma that severely limits the ability of transgender youth to access critical, lifesaving gender-affirming care. Raoul, along with a coalition of attorneys general, filed an amicus brief supporting the plaintiffs in Poe v. Drummond, who are suing to block Oklahoma’s Senate Bill (SB) 613, which restricts medical treatment for transgender minors seeking gender-affirming care.The plaintiffs filed an appeal with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit after the district court denied their motion for a preliminary injunction against SB 613. Today, Raoul and the coalition filed an amicus brief in support of the plaintiffs, arguing that Oklahoma’s ban on gender-affirming care is discriminatory and violates the Equal Protection Clause of the U.S. Constitution by banning medical treatment for transgender youth based on their gender identity. “Denying transgender people the gender-affirming
