Join Mayor Cara Spencer and Personnel Director Brian Light in celebrating the dedication, hard work, and outstanding achievements of St. Louis’s civil service workforce.
This inaugural annual ceremony marks the City’s first centralized recognition program honoring the more than 3,000 city employees who keep St. Louis running every day—from frontline crews to behind-the-scenes administrative staff.
The ceremony will honor exceptional contributions across seven categories:
• Frontline & Trades Hero Award – Field, maintenance, and trades personnel.
•Behind-the-Scenes Hero Award – IT, payroll, administrative, and legal staff.
• Resilience & Emergency Response Award – Exceptional service during crises and severe weather events.
• Gateway Public Service Award – Resident-facing and community-centered service.
• Innovation & Efficiency Award – Process modernization and cost savings.
• Civil Service Rising Star Award – Early-career talent with under five years of municipal service.
• Mayor's Choice Award – The premier honor recognizing overall excellence across municipal service.
