Illinois convict can't withdraw guilty plea in Randy Gori's murder

Timothy M. Branowetz, a convicted killer, had his motion to withdraw his guilty plea for the murder of attorney Randy Gori denied. Madison County State’s Attorney, Tom Haine, dismissed the motion, stating, "We hope this ruling brings an end to this convicted murderer’s legal gamesmanship. We will continue to make every effort to ensure he serves every day of his 70-year sentence."

Eduardo Guzman Salazar, a 22-year-old man from St. Louis County, faces charges of burglary and robbery in connection with an incident on Page Avenue. Salazar is charged with second-degree burglary and stealing, accused of breaking into an apartment window and stealing over $2,800 in cash. He is held on a $50,000 cash bond.
