A former correctional officer at Pinckneyville Correctional Center has pleaded guilty to beating a restrained inmate. Christian L. Pyles, 25, from Christopher, Illinois, admitted in court to violating the inmate's civil rights by beating them while they were restrained and then lying on incident reports.
A Florissant man has been sentenced to 135 months in prison for robbing five homes in the Florissant area. Kevin E. West Jr., 23, has also been ordered to pay $7,022 in damages. West pleaded guilty in June to robbery and using a gun to threaten victims.
