St. Louis police chief postpones retirement
John Hayden will remain St. Louisβ Chief of Police until further notice as the search for his replacement continues, KSDK has learned.
Sources familiar with the negotiations said Hayden formally agreed this week to continue serving as chief beyond his Feb. 23 retirement date he announced in September. He has been at the helm for four years.
The move follows remarks Mayor Tishaura Jones made in recent weeks about the finalists for the job β one of whom has a pending discrimination lawsuit againstβ¦
UM board rejects mask mandates for start of spring semester
Students at University of Missouri schools will not have to wear masks when they return to the classroom next week.
The UM Board of Curators met Tuesday morning to discuss potential Covid-19 policy changes as cases continue to rise across Missouri and the nation.
System President Mun Choi asked curators to consider two recommendations:
Masks required indoors for students, faculty and staff
Masks required in classrooms and student labs
The board rejected both recommendations in separate votes.β¦
