The Atlantic reports today that three researchers have performed a re-analysis of swabs taken at the Huanan Market in Wuhan early in the COVID-19 pandemic. Judges in the 22nd Judicial Circuit have retained a former assistant St. Louis circuit attorney who also served 25 years on the bench as their attorney during the Missouri attorney general’s legal battle to remove St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner from office. Granite City's Lee Coyle Will Be Missouri S&T St. Pat's Celebration Of St. Pat's First Guard

ROLLA, Mo. - Lee Coyle, a senior in engineering management from Granite City, Illinois, will be the First Guard in the 115th Celebration of St. Pat's at Missouri S&T. Andrew Winingar, a senior in engineering management from Independence, Missouri, will portray St. Patrick during the 115th celebration of St. Pat's at Missouri S&T. St. Pat and the court officially arrived on campus at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15. Following a procession to the Jack Carney Puck and Plaza on the S&T campus, the court presided over the final day of Follies. The court will also participate in formal coronation ceremonies at 9 p.m. Friday, March 17, at Leach Theatre in Castleman Hall, located at 10th and Main streets in Rolla. Attendance is free and open to the public. At the event, the 2023 Queen of Love and Beauty will be crowned, and the Queen's Court will have titles bestowed. The 2023 celebration continues at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18, with the St. Pat's Parade in downtown Rolla.

Artists of color expand opera’s view with 3 new works at Opera Theatre of St. Louis

Opera Theatre of St. Louis will present three short operas, all by artists of color who’ve worked largely outside the opera world. The works address the roots of Black, queer ballroom culture, three important inventors who were Black women, and the Supreme Court battle over a rock band’s attempt to reappropriate a racial slur. Mezzo soprano Olivia Johnson and tenor Matthew Pearce talk with us, as does the director of all three plays, Ramoon Rajendra Maharaj.
