On Friday, April 14, video of Representative Ian Mackey (D-St. Louis County) taking to task Representative Chuck Bayse (R-Boone County) in the Missouri Statehouse went viral on TikTok and Twitter. The House was debating an amendment to an elections bill that would allow school boards to call for votes on whether or not transgender women can play on all-female teams. The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday denied Spire Inc.'s appeal of a lower court's decision that the natural gas utility's Spire STL pipeline should have never been operating in the first place.

The deli, known for its famous hot salami, has been open since 1918 at its location on The Hill. Gioia's has one other location, in Creve Coeur. The deli closed a downtown location after the pandemic took hold in 2020.
