ALTON — The Alton Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred shortly after midnight on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025. At approximately 12:09 a.m., officers responded to a report in the 1100 block of Belle Street of a male subject suffering from gunshot wounds. The individual was found at the scene and transported to a local hospital before being transferred to a hospital in the St. Louis area. He is currently listed in stable condition. The department’s Criminal Investigations Division is actively investigating the incident. Madison County Man Convicted in Violent Home Invasion

EDWARDSVILLE - Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Haine announced Friday, Oct. 10, 2025, that a jury found Timothy P. Rodgers, 40, of Edwardsville, guilty of felony charges related to an attack on a Glen Carbon doctor. Rodgers was convicted of home invasion, a Class X felony, and aggravated battery of a person 60 or older, a Class 3 felony, for an incident that occurred Dec. 20, 2021. According to evidence and testimony presented during the trial, Rodgers entered the victim’s home without authorization, despite being told to leave via a video doorbell. He gained entry through a garage door and attacked the 67-year-old victim in a bathroom by slamming the victim’s head against a tile floor, head-butting him, and body-slamming him. The victim sustained bruising, cuts, and permanent hearing loss. Lorenzo M. Barlow, 21, of Edwardsville, was charged with one count each of stalking and nonconsensual dissemination of a sex image, both Class 4 felonies. On Oct. 7, 2025, Barlow allegedly engaged in a course of conduct directed at a victim which he knew or should have known would cause the victim to fear for their safety, resulting in the stalking charge. Hosted by the city and the East End Improvement Association, the parade will start at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025. Hundreds of spectators will be in attendance. Steve and Greg with the East End Improvement Association look forward to another fun, spooky night for the city. “Halloween is really a big night in Alton,” Steve said. “We have people who come back every year. We have individuals that watch the parade that are in the same spot every year.
