Thanks to funds from the American Rescue Plan Act, $5.5 million dollars will be used for violence intervention programs in St. Louis.

Police believe a man who was fatally shot on his porch on May 15 was hit by a stray bullet. A St. Louis man has been charged in the killing.

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker said the plan will provide a total of $1.8 billion in tax relief to residents of the state.

A jury found Dawan Ferguson guilty of the murder of his son Christian, who has been missing since 2003. His body has never been found.

ALTON – Illinois American Water continues to rehabilitate the sanitary sewer system as well as replace approximately 1,200 feet of water main in Alton. Starting July 5, 2022, U.S. Route 67 (Piasa Street), from 20 th Street/College Avenue south to 3 rd Street in Alton will be closed for approximately one month barring any unforeseen circumstances and weather. The closures are for employee and contractor safety, so please take care when traveling in these areas. Marked detours will be placed to safely guide motorists around the closure. Motorists should use caution when driving in the area and obey traffic signs, detour routes, and flaggers in the area. If possible, motorists should avoid the area. EDWARDSVILLE - Katie Stuart breezed through the Democratic Primary for the 112th District State House of Representatives spot, and now will focus on the general election race in November against Republican opponent Jennifer Korte. After listening to five days of testimony from more than 30 witnesses, a jury deliberated for only a little more than two hours before declaring Dawan Ferguson, 49, guilty of murder for killing his nine-year-old disabled son in 2003. All week the trial has been marked by interruptions and delays, and this morning’s proceedings got under way more than two hours behind schedule, with the jury not entering the courtroom until a few minutes before noon. With the jury in place, the prosecution and defense each had one last chance to argue their version of what happened on the morning June 11, 2003.
