ALTON – An Alton man with domestic battery convictions dating back to 2014 across Madison and Macoupin Counties has been detained in his latest such case. John T. Tanner, 37, of Alton, was charged on April 29, 2026 with two Class 3 felony counts of domestic battery, his fourth or subsequent such offenses.
