ALTON – A local woman has been charged with stealing toys that were donated to charity last December. Brenda L. Donithan, 28, of Alton, was charged on March 16, 2026 with one count of theft, a Class 4 felony. On Dec. 4, 2025, Donithan allegedly knowingly obtained or exerted unauthorized control over property of the Nautilus Fitness Center in Alton. She is specifically accused of stealing various toys that had been donated to the Toys For Tots charity, with the intent to deprive Nautilus

A major St. Louis police operation targeting a condemned apartment complex Thursday morning in south St. Louis led to 63 summonses and 13 arrests. Authorities say the property had become a hub for violent crime and unsafe living conditions.
