CHICAGO – Attorney General Kwame Raoul today joined a multistate coalition of 19 attorneys general in filing an amicus brief supporting the plaintiffs’ challenge to the Trump administration’s early terminations of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designations for Haitians and Venezuelans. The ceremony will take place in City Park, 101 S. Buchanan Street, at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025, the same time and day as the original 1945 event. CHICAGO – Attorney General Kwame Raoul led a coalition of 22 attorneys general in seeking a court order to force the Trump administration to unfreeze essential funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Despite multiple court orders, including a preliminary injunction issued on March 6 blocking the Trump administration from unlawfully freezing federal funds, the administration continues to withhold hundreds of millions of dollars in grants to states from FEMA.
