The discount chain Big Lots, which filed for bankruptcy protection in September, has reached a deal that will keep hundreds of its stores and distribution centers open.

The Ferguson Police Department has warned of a heavy police presence Saturday afternoon after a suspected shooting occurred.

"A stolen handgun was also recovered," the statement said. "Charges are being filed with the Circuit Attorney’s Office; however, the investigation remains ongoing."

The Wonders of Wildlife Museum and Aquarium in the Missouri Ozarks has welcomed its fifth group of critically ill sea turtles for rehabilitation.

"There was a struggle between the suspect and the 23-year-old over the handgun, and a shot was fired," the statement from police said.

Authorities are renewing calls for help in the search for Daja Lucas, a woman who has been missing for nearly two weeks. Family members also continue to plead for help.

Big Lots filed for bankruptcy protection in September, saying inflation and high interest rates had cut back on consumer demand for its furniture and other products.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a teenage boy who had been shot in his stomach. Officials have not released the teen's name.
