CLAIR COUNTY - Citizens for Modern Transit, St. Clair County Transit District and Metro Transit are partnering to host “Oh What Fun it is to Ride Transit” festivities during the morning and evening commutes on Friday, Dec. 6, 2024. The goal of these efforts is to spread a little holiday cheer – while also reminding residents about the advantages of taking public transit during the winter months. ALTON - The National Great Rivers Museum (NGRM), in partnership with Meeting of the Rivers Foundation (MTRF), is now accepting entries for their fourth annual “Winter on the River” Photography Contest. MTRF is looking for artists to capture the beauty of winter along the river for a community photo contest that will be exhibited at the NGRM beginning January 11, 2025. All entries will remain on display as part of this exhibition through the end of the winter season. In a change from previous years, MTRF is excited to now offer a youth category for local youth ages 13 to 17, in addition to the adult category, for a discounted fee.
