Wanted For Officer Assault In Caseyville: Man Faces Resisting Arrest Charge After Overland Officer-Involved Shooting

OVERLAND, MO. — A 28-year-old man was charged with resisting arrest following an officer-involved shooting on March 30, 2025, in the 10700 block of Page Avenue, according to St. Louis County authorities. Eddie Washington, of the 11800 block of Cato Drive in Florissant, Mo., was charged on March 31 with resisting or interfering with arrest, detention, or stop. Washington is being held on a $5,000 cash-only bond with no 10% bond option. The incident with St. Louis County Police began when officers were alerted by a license plate reader that a vehicle operated by Washington was wanted in connection with an assault on law enforcement officers in Caseyville. Officers attempted a traffic stop and to detain Washington, who then fled on foot. During the ensuing struggle, Washington wrestled with an officer on the ground before being arrested. American Sign Language Courses Return to Lewis and Clark This Fall

GODFREY – After two years, Lewis and Clark Community College is bringing back a credit course in American Sign Language (ASL) this fall. The course, Basic Communication 1 (SIGN 165-60) is designed to introduce students to ASL and its cultural aspects. Students are introduced to approximately 300 ASL vocabulary items, fingerspelling and certain grammatical features. Upon completion of the course, students will have developed beginning conversational skills for interaction with Deaf individuals. “I am thrilled that we are once again able to offer our ASL class at Lewis and Clark,” said Randy Gallaher, Dean of Liberal Arts, Business and IT. “This course not only equips students with the tools to communicate but also opens the doors to meaningful connections within the Deaf community."
