Boys & Girls Club Honors Longtime Board Member

ALTON - The Alton Boys & Girls Club celebrated the end of their playground renovation project today, but the party didn’t stop there. The club also said goodbye to longtime Board Member Cas Sheppard as he prepares to retire. Sheppard has served on the Boys & Girls Club board for 12 years, including two terms as president. “It’s going to be a huge loss for us, but we just really appreciate Cas and what he’s brought to our organization. So this is our way of showing him that we appreciate him and we thank him,” Al Womack, the Alton Boys & Girls Club executive director, said. Womack and Sheppard have worked alongside each other for years. The Boys & Girls Club is a national organization that offers after-school and summer programs to kids and teens.
