Polls Show Support for Recreational-Use Marijuana in Missouri
After months of conflicting surveys, recent polls suggest recreational-use marijuana legalization may pass in Missouri. The newest poll by SurveyUSA found that 61 percent of voters support the initiative, with 28 percent against and 11 percent undecided, with a margin of error of 4 percentage points. The pollsters interviewed 791 voters from October 27 to November 1.

Soulard Shooter Wins 'Not Guilty' Verdict in Third Trial
On Friday, a St. Louis jury returned a not guilty verdict in the murder trial of Christopher Endicott, 31, who shot and killed 37-year-old Jarrett Greene outside the Soulard bar Molly's in 2016. This was Endicott's third time on trial on charges related to that shooting. At Endicott's initial trial in 2018, the jury was unable to reach a verdict, resulting in a mistrial.

IEMA Facilitates Flood Exercise in Grafton
GRAFTON - On November 3, various city, county, and state agencies came together at Grafton City Hall in an exercise designed to analyze and coordinate their proposed actions in response to a flood emergency. Doug Downing, Coordinator for Region 8 of the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA), created and led the exercise which allowed the various groups to hear responses from all participants during the forecast, flooding, and recovery stages of a major flood scenario. IEMA developed the exercise based on a request from the Grafton mayor after a meeting they had in Springfield last year. “It’s rare that a municipality requests this type of help, so we were glad to come and conduct this exercise for Grafton. IEMA has responded here in the past and that history was helpful, but the real benefit of this exercise is that we all now have a plan at the city, county, and state levels.
