O'Fallon firefighters rescue ducklings from a sewer

O'FALLON, Mo. -- Firefighters got a call from a concerned citizen Thursday about a duck hanging out by a sewer gate. They found baby ducks in the sewer. The first responders were able to save the ducklings. Pictures of the family reunion and rescue were posted to the O'Fallon Fire Protection District's Facebook page Friday.

Three-story apartment building in north St. Louis catches fire

ST. LOUIS -- Firefighters have been called to the 2700 block of Howard Friday morning. A three-story apartment building located in north St. Louis is on fire. They are working to put it out. Everyone inside the building has been accounted for. There does not appear to be any injuries associated with this fire.

Powerplex sports complex to close

The Powerplex here, right off 370, used to be at the st. Louis outlet mall before the Powerplex started. Dan Buck, managing partner of the group that operates the Powerplex, says a long term lease deal could not be reached with the new property owner, and the facility here will close on May 1st.
