Shots were fired in the 3800 block of Shenandoah on Saturday morning. Police confirmed that there was an officer involved in the shooting. Reports of shots fired happened around 9:30 a.m.

The Sheriff's Office reported this morning, on September 30, that two inmates escaped from the Phelps County Jail. One of them has since turned himself in.

Piedmont, Missouri, has been named the State UFO Capitals of Missouri, due to sightings of UFOs in 1973. Rep. Chris Dinkins pushed for the designation to boost tourism. This bill was to celebrate the 50th anniversary of reported unidentified flying object (UFO) sightings in Piedmont.
