Coleman defeats Roorda in Republican state Senate primary in JeffCo

Mary Elizabeth Coleman, currently a Missouri state representative in the 97th District, bested Jeff Roorda and two other challengers in the race to be the Republican candidate for Missouri state Senate's 22nd District, which lies entirely in Jefferson County. Coleman is running for the seat being vacated by incumbent Paul Wieland, a term-limited Republican not running for reelection. Coleman took 35% of the vote to Roorda's 24%.
